I’m a huge animal fan…in my free time I love spending time with my two Boston Terriers, Stallone and Shumway! If I’m not out walking the dogs or subbing at Mixed Greens, I’m thinking of new crafts and activities that we can enjoy at Camp Ever Greens.
Counselor – Cole Brady
Howdy! My name’s Cole Brady, and I’m very much looking forward to continuing my time at Camp Ever Greens and Mixed Greens! I’m currently working my way through college to become a music teacher/working musician. I have a passion for playing the drums, I’ve been playing them for about eight and a half years without an end in sight. You may have seen me and my band playing at Mixed Greens Art from the Start! I have been babysitting 3 kids (10 and under) of a family friend for the past two years, and have spent a whole lot of time with them. Whenever I see them, we spend our time together doing anything outdoors. From playing tag to jumping on a trampoline… sometimes a music lesson sneaks in too; whatever we decide to do it’s guaranteed fun! My mom is an elementary school teacher, and from a young age I frequently helped her out in the classroom. It has sparked my interest in teaching and getting to know more about kids and how they see the world. In the future, I hope to combine my passion for music and education/creativity to enhance my skills for a career in teaching. I’m excited for this year at Camp Ever Greens & Mixed Greens…I have nothing but high hopes!
Counselor – Raynee Jervan
Hello! My name is Raynee Jervan and I am very excited about taking this next step and adventure in my life with Mixed Greens. I come from a large family that has strong roots here in Sonoma County. From the time I was born, my parents and family have engulfed me with love & support, have taught me to believe in myself, appropriately express my feelings, and experience every new day as an adventure in life that helps mold you as a person & create endless possibilities. I look forward to sharing those same loving qualities with the children I am blessed to be around here at Mixed Greens. I believe that children should observe nature and not only build and find the beauty in it, but also learn valuable loving qualities that they can imitate as they grow up and become respectful members of the community. I love teaching kids new things & having fun with them. I love being a part of a child’s development and I hope that I can make a positive impact on the kids that I am entrusted with daily. I’m very grateful to be working here at Mixed Greens so I can learn from the kids & they can learn from me.
I’m currently working as an Electrician’s Apprentice with my Father who has been an Electrician in the Bay Area for over 30 years and I am striving to be more & more skilled in this trade. It has been a privilege to help the fire victims in Sonoma County rebuild their homes and see their smiling faces when they move back into their homes and put their lives back to the Sonoma County normal.
Substitute Counselor – Courtney Hunter
Hi everyone, I’m Courtney Hunter, and I’m very excited to be a part of the Camp Ever Greens & Mixed Greens team! I’ve worked at the Mixed Greens Farmstead camp for the past few years, and have been happily working with the camp kids as well for the past year or so! I’ve been working with kids for the past 15 years as a preschool teacher, nanny, summer camp counselor, and field trip teacher. In 2008 I received my AA in Child Development at the SRJC right here in Sonoma County where I was born and raised.
Being a part of a young child’s learning experience is an incredible gift and learning lesson for all involved! Taking time to slow down and explore our curiosity about the natural world, figure out how things work and experiment with creative expression through art/movement/music/building/language are things that I love to encourage in children at any age (including us “grown ups”)!
Besides teaching, some of my other passions include gardening, creating visual art + music, traveling as much of the globe as possible, and volunteering in my community. I look forward to meeting you all and continuing this learning journey together!
Substitute Counselor: Joe James
Hello everyone! My name is Joe James and I am extremely excited for my first year at Mixed Greens. I can’t wait to learn more about your children’s interests and passions to better help them learn and discover the world around us. To get a better sense of me, some of my hobbies and passions include basketball, music, food, cooking, swimming, board games, my three guinea pigs, and much more.
For the past six years I have been working with kids in elementary after-school programs and summer camps in Marin county. There, I created a curriculum and activities, led small adult teams, and helped maintain a safe environment. Currently I am a senior at Sonoma State University studying Early Childhood Education. I plan on continuing my education after graduating and obtaining a teaching credential for elementary school.
I have had the opportunity to visit Mixed Greens multiple times, and am very excited to have the opportunity to teach within the environment. The outdoor space and caring nature of all who are a part of it brings a welcoming and open space to learn and grow. I’m really excited to join such a great team of wonderful teachers and be a part of such an awesome community. Hope to meet you all soon!
Administrative Assistant – Alyssa Rumrill
Hello, My name is Alyssa and I am thrilled to be the Admin Assistant for Camp Ever Greens! My child and I had been a part of the Mixed Greens family for 7 years, so I was very excited to join the amazing Mixed Greens staff in this after-school program. I was a nanny in my early twenties to 3 amazing children who were also raised in a Waldorf/Reggio/Montessori philosophy, so I have had experience with this style of learning for quite a while. I took an extended break from childcare to become a travel agent, working with family trip planning and traveling the world meeting many amazing people in many different cultures. Life has circled back around and allowed me to again enjoy the beautiful company of little ones, watching them grow and learn and have FUN with our Camp Ever Greens program. I earned my Day Camp Director certification from the American Camp Association, and look forward to sharing my excitement with your children. When I am not fielding Camp emails, you can find me subbing for teachers at Mixed Greens, playing with my husband and child around town, making art, and of course TRAVELING!
